News & Observer food critic Greg Cox says: As the colorful Southwestern-flavored décor hints, the specialty at this North Raleigh eatery is California-style Mexican cuisine. That translates to fresh ingredients and scratch preparation of dishes whose highlights start with mango shrimp and a superb chunky guacamole, and move on to include excellent renditions of Santa Fe enchiladas, huevos rancheros and chile relleno. Flan is first-rate, too. Lunch and dinner Monday-Saturday.
