Christopher Plummer (born Arthur Christopher Orme Plummer on Dec. 13, 1929 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada) is a theatre, film and TV actor and recipient of the Order of Canada. Plummer is most well-know for his lead role as Captain Georg von Trapp in the musical "The Sound of Music." More recently he lent his voice in Disney-Pixar's "Up" as Charles Muntz and in the Tim Burton produced animated film "9" as 1.
Plummer's long and illustrious career has seen him take an eclectic set of rules on stage, in TV and on the big screen. Throughout his career he has amassed a plethora of awards in all three mediums. He has two Tony® Awards" 1974's Best Leading Actor in a Musical for his lead role in "Cyrano" and 1997's Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Play for his lead role in "Barrymore." He also has two Emmy® Awards: 1976's Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series for "Arthur Hailey's The Moneychangers" and 1994's Outstanding Voice-Over Performance for his contribution in Family Channel's "Madeline" TV series.
